Unai Emery arrives at Bodymoor Heath but can’t take Aston Villa training yet – report
Unai Emery has officially checked in at Aston Villa, but visa issues have stopped him from taking his first training session at the club, according to the Birmingham Mail.
Aston Villa said Emery would take charge of Villa on 1 November, and as promised the Spaniard has been spotted at Bodymoore Heath for his first day at the club.
However, while the 50-year-old was initially scheduled to take charge of Tuesday’s training session, he has been made to wait for Visa clearance.

As reported by the Birmingham Mail: “The former Villarreal, Arsenal, Paris Saint-Germain and Sevilla boss won’t be able to take his first session until clearance arrives.”
Not ideal
With just five days to go until Villa face Manchester United, it would’ve been great for Emery to introduce himself to the squad and take his first training session as soon as possible.
The Visa issues only limits the amount of time Emery will have to work on a game plan for a difficult task against the Red Devils.

Hopefully, any clearance issues are sorted immediately so that Emery can take his first-ever training session with the club on Wednesday.
It’ll be interesting to see whether Emery immediately tries to implement his style against Manchester United on Sunday or whether he’ll stick to some of the methods of his predecessor Steven Gerrard.
Fans could be in for formation, personnel and tactical changes as Emery begins his exciting era at Villa Park. Manchester United is no easy first game – the Red Devils climbed to fifth after their hard-fought victory over West Ham.
But Villa proved they’re capable of playing well in the recent 4-0 win over Brentford. Hopefully the squad arrives on Sunday with the same amount of confidence and enthusiasm.
