Aston Villa midfielder Jacob Ramsey nominated for Premier League Player of the Month
Aston Villa midfielder Jacob Ramsey has been nominated for the Premier League player of the month for September.
It has been a good month for the Birmingham outfit with a win against Southampton and a draw against Manchester City and Ramsey has done an exceptional job in the middle of the park for Steven Gerrard’s side.
The 21-year-old is up against Bournemouth’s Philip Billing, Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne, Tottenham’s Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Everton’s Alex Iwobi and Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford for the award.

Star in the making
Despite only being 21 years old Ramsey has already gone on to make 71 senior appearances for the Midlands club and only seems to be getting better with each passing month.
He’s got the maturity of a player who’s played in the Premier League for five years and he does not seem to be stopping anytime soon.
It’s not that Ramsey has only started shining once he’s been promoted to the first team as he’s been ever present for the under-18s and the under-21s is well.
Anyone who’s watched him play at that level will tell you that he was always a star in the making.
Despite there being senior international figures in the team, Ramsey continues to justify his position in the starting eleven and Gerrard has none has undoubtedly helped take his game to the next level.
Former manager Dean Smith also was an admirer of the player and it could be argued that he gave him the confidence to make that jump to the senior level.
Villa and their fans will be hoping that no big club comes in for him because he definitely is reaching that level where he would want to play European football every season.
