Aston Villa goalkeeper Robin Olsen training alone due to injury

Aston Villa goalkeeper Robin Olsen is training alone in Sweden as he is struggling with an ongoing knee injury, according to a report from Fotbollskanalen.

The experienced goalkeeper joined the Swedish national team ahead of their two upcoming friendlies against Serbia and Slovenia.

However, it looks like he could miss both the games as injury issues are causing concerns for Villa.

Injury problems

Olsen was signed on a permanent deal in the summer for around £3 million.

The 32-year-old is a vastly experienced player having managed 60 caps for his country.

Steven Gerrard previously shared an update on Olsen’s knee injury in the build-up to the Premier League fixture against Southampton last Friday.

Villa have suffered a blow this week, with Lucas Digne picking up an ankle injury.

Digne replaced Theo Hernandez in the France squad on Monday but he will now return to Villa Park after picking up an injury. The left-back has appeared in all seven Premier League games this season, but doubts remain whether he will be fit to face Leeds United on 2 October after the international break.

Another player who has picked up an injury is Boubacar Kamara. Olsen is the reserve keeper for Villa, but if the issue persists, it could become a headache for the Villa boss.
