View: Aston Villa must make move for Conor Gallagher after Thomas Tuchel sacking at Chelsea
Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher’s future at Stamford Bridge has been cast into doubt after the sacking of Thomas Tuchel, potentially opening the door for Aston Villa.
Tuchel championed the England international and handed the youngster multiple opportunities to impress early on this season, to little success.
Now that the German has been let go by Chelsea club owner Todd Boehly, Villa could rekindle their interest in the maestro in January.
That’s if new Chelsea boss Graham Potter sees Gallagher as surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge; there’s a strong possibility he might.
Villa made inquiries for Gallagher in the final days of the transfer window, however, it seems there attempts were rebuffed. [talkSPORT].

Gallagher drew huge plaudits during his loan spell at Crystal Palace during the 2021/2022 season, so it’s no shock the midfielder was wanted by Steven Gerrard this summer.
And going off that form, the thought of a Gerrard-Gallagher link-up at Villa is a mouthwatering prospect, to say the least.
Forward-thinking and hard-working, Gallagher would offer Gerrard’s midfield a never say die attitude that can be reaped for countless campaigns to come.
Chelsea were said to have slapped a £50m price tag on the 22-year-old, although, Villa’s recent free-spending nature wouldn’t think twice about this. [Goal].
Could Gallagher be the final piece of the Steven Gerrard puzzle? Perhaps, if you look at his Crystal Palace exploits and stats last season.
