View: Aston Villa should let Kortney Hause leave with Bournemouth now interested

Aston Villa must consider allowing defender Kortney Hause to leave the club this summer.

Alex Crook reported for TalkSPORT on 30 July that Premier League newcomers Bournemouth are showing keen interest in signing the defender.

The Cherries are looking to bolster their defence this summer, and they have earmarked Hause as a potential option for the club.

Since moving from Wolverhampton Wanderers, things didn’t go according to plans for Hause. Last season (2021-22), he made only seven appearances in the Premier League.

In total, he has managed only 43 appearances since joining the Midlands club permanently in 2019. At 27, Hause should be playing regular football at the club, but he is struggling to make an impact under Steven Gerrard who is always eager to give every player a chance.

It clearly indicates that Gerrard is probably not a big fan of the player, and there is little evidence to suggest that his situation is going to change drastically.

He has a contract at the club until 2025, and Villa should expect to sell him at a decent price.A loan move isn’t ideal for him. He needs to move away from Villa Park and embrace new opportunities.

Bournemouth could be the perfect club for the next phase of his development. Gerrard has enough depth in the defensive areas, and he has the likes of Tyrone Mings, Ezri Konsa and Diego Carlos at his disposal.

Hause would struggle to get regular games next season, and thus a move away from Villa Park makes sense. If there’s an offer on the table, the club should let him go.

In other Aston Villa news, manager Steven Gerrard is very keen to bring Liverpool defender Joe Gomez to the club.
