6 Aston Villa players could be set to leave on loan – The Athletic
Aston Villa could be set to allow up to six players to leave the club on loan this summer, with several Championship clubs interested say The Athletic.
Steven Gerrard has strengthened his squad during the summer window bringing in five first-teamers, which will see limited opportunities for several youngsters to make an impression.
And that means the former Rangers boss could be open to allowing them to leave on loan, with six players named as potential departures including Keinan Davis, Cameron Archer and Aaron Ramsey.

Davis is said to be surplus to requirements after his loan spell at Nottingham Forest last season and could be allowed a permanent move away if an offer comes in. Archer has attracted interest from “almost the entire Championship” but could stay as a third-choice striker.
Ramsey, the younger brother of Jacob, has got Championship interest too while Tim Iroegbunam, Kaine Kesler Hayden and Kortney Hause could find temporary football elsewhere.
Decisions
The first-team squad is currently strong and has plenty of depth, but Gerrard must now make a decision on who is likely to disrupt that in a positive way and who needs to go elsewhere to make an impression.
The likelihood is that the youngsters will leave for more regular football if a good loan opportunity presents itself, while Davis has had his chance to impress and failed to take it.

The rest are on the brink and can trust that should they impress, like Jacob Ramsey did last season then they will get opportunities.
With Carney Chukwuemeka’s future up in the air too that clears an extra path into the first-team for them should they impress and they can prove their hunger and talent by performing at a lower level.
There’s plenty of time left in the window and no rush to make these deals happen overnight, but they must ensure the loans aren’t wasted and that the players get the opportunity to prove themselves and show their talents.
