View: Aston Villa must loan Kortney Hause amid interest from Watford

Aston Villa must look to loan out Kortney Hause amid reported interest from Championship side Watford.

The Hornets clearly will be looking for Premier League proven players as they suffered relegation from the English top flight last season.

Having recently signed an extension at Villa Park, it does not make sense to sell the defender permanently so a loan move would be the best solution.

According to the Athletic, there are other teams keen on signing him as well and this is perfect for the Villans as they can see what the best fit is for them.

At 27, he certainly is not in the twilight of his career and centre-backs often look to enter their peaks at this age.

The club have four senior centre-backs available — Tyrone Mings, Callum Chambers, Ezri Konsa and new signing Diego Carlos.

This should be good enough for the first team and Steven Gerrard can always call on the youngsters or maybe even Boubacar Kamara to play out of position in terms of an injury crisis.

Hopefully, Villa manage to find an agreement with Watford that guarantees playing time as that’s imperative and then he can return next season and challenge for a first-team role.

In other Aston Villa news, manager Steven Gerrard is very keen to bring Liverpool defender Joe Gomez to the club.
