Burnley put £25m price tag on Aston Villa target Nathan Collins – report

Burnley are reportedly willing to sell defender Nathan Collins this summer amid growing interest from Premier League clubs including Aston Villa.

According to the Daily Mirror (June 18, 11:24 am), Newcastle, Leeds United and Wolves are all keen on signing the 21-year-old this summer after the Clarets got relegated from the top flight.

Burnley are understood to be open to receiving offers for the Republic of Ireland international and are looking for a fee in the region of £25million.

Aston Villa

Worth it?

Collins is a solid defender and would add something different to this Villa side, but his valuation is on the higher side and that could see clubs looking the other way.

Despite relegation, Burnley still feel that they can dictate terms over player sales, especially someone who’s that sought after.

He only moved to Turf Moor last summer so does not have any loyalty towards them and would surely be open to a move to a Premier League club.

He’s one of the better young defenders in England and will certainly feel that his talents are being wasted in the Championship.

Villa must table a bid which is in the region of how much they value him and that will surely make Collins talk to the hierarchy over letting him go.

At 21, he would want to play in the biggest league in the world and the chance to work under Steven Gerrard may not come again in his career.

In other Aston Villa news, manager Steven Gerrard is very keen to bring Liverpool defender Joe Gomez to the club.
