Robin Olsen buzzing to start new Aston Villa adventure after signing three-year deal
Robin Olsen is excited to embark on a new adventure after signing a new three-year deal at Aston Villa.
The 32-year-old goalkeeper initially joined the Villans on a half-season loan deal in January and has now made the permanent £3million switch from Roma ahead of the 2022/23 season.
Having spent much of his career out on loan, most recently at Everton and Sheffield United, the 32-year-old is delighted that his future has been resolved.

Olsen told Express & Star: “It’s a new adventure, so to speak. Now we know that we will stay there [at Villa Park] for three years.
“It’s a fantastic club and incredibly nice that it’s been resolved. I feel how much I’ve developed in just the five or six months I’ve been there.
“We started talking early about triggering the clause, but then a few other things made it take time. It’s very nice it was resolved.”
Future.
The Lions look to be piecing together everything they need to take it up another level next season.
They have already made three brilliant signings in the shape of Philippe Coutinho, Boubacar Kamara and Diego Carlos and Olsen is the fourth new addition.

He might not be a European world-beater or as exciting as the others but he will play a vital role in the team.
Emiliano Martinez is undoubtedly the number one but having the Sweden international there pushing him to his limits to ensure he stays the favourite between the sticks is important.
Olsen will also provide sound cover for the Argentine when he needs a rest and having a capable keeper, which the journeyman certainly is, is a huge boost in doing that.
The Aston Villa squad is going from strength to strength – hopefully, the excitement and intent of the transfer window spill onto the pitch as Steven Gerrard looks to make his mark.
