Aston Villa confirm signing of French star Boubacar Kamara on five-year contract
Aston Villa have confirmed the signing of French starlet Boubacar Kamara on a five-year deal.
The 22-year-old’s Olympique Marseille contract expiring sees the Lions complete their second signing of the summer.
Racking up 162 appearances for the Ligue 1 side already at such a young age has made him one of the most in-demand players in Europe.
Reacting to the news, Steven Gerrard told Aston Villa: “I am delighted that we have been able to attract one of the most promising young talents in European football. We have a very clear plan to make our team stronger and Bouba is an important part of that.”
Boubacar added: “When I met with Steven, Christian and Johan I knew Aston Villa was for me. Their ambition and determination to succeed matches my own. I cannot wait for pre-season to get going.”
Bright future.
This is very exciting news ahead of next season. it is great to see the Villans acting so quickly and effectively in the transfer market.
They obviously know what they want for next season and are wasting no time in getting it which is very promising.

Kamara bid farewell to the Marseille fans on the weekend and the reception he got from the entire stadium was brilliant.
You could tell they were devastated to be letting him go but a player of his quality can only turn down a move to the Premier League for so long.
It would be easy to forget just how young he is with how maturely how plays on the pitch.
With that being said, England is a completely different kettle of fish and he may need some time to adapt to a new country, league and team which makes patience with the midfielder very important.
Let’s see that the rest of the window holds but the future already looks bright for the Lions.
In other Aston Villa news, Gerrard can deal with the pressure out on him by Liverpool says his former teammate Danny Murphy.
