Aston Villa men ‘straight to’ Philippe Coutinho for advice – Jacob Ramsey
Aston Villa youngster Jacob Ramsey has admitted that all of the Aston Villa players go ‘straight to’ new signing Philippe Coutinho for any advice.
After initially joining on a six-month loan deal in January, the Brazil international has made his Villa Park stay permanent – signing a four year deal for £17million from Barcelona [Sky Sports].
With the 29-year-old playing for some of the best teams in the world, not only is the Lions player is eager to learn from him but Ramsey wants to help the attacker return to his very best.

He told Express & Star: “He (Coutinho) is a very humble guy, really shy. But I think everyone in our changing room knows if you want advice, you go straight to him.
“He’s played for big teams, Inter, Barcelona and Liverpool. Hopefully, we can help bring out those qualities he has shown before.”
Ramsey added: “We play in a similar position on the left-hand side so if I can learn from Phil and the gaffer I will be doing OK, I think.
“Everyone can tell Phil is really happy here and you can tell everyone is happy he’s staying for four years. He gave us a big boost when he arrived back in January and hopefully he can continue that.”
Journeyman.
Coutinho has experience in several world-class teams across Europe and undoubtedly has the most experience within this Aston Villa squad so Coutinho’s teammates would be stupid not to try and learn from him.
There were some doubts about this move with the former Liverpool man very much out of form since he left the Premier League in 2018 combined with the massive wages he was on with Barcelona.

His decision to take a 70% is huge – it makes the deal a far lesser risk for the Villans chiefs but more importantly, shows that the maestro is more focused on his football rather than the money.
His attitude is spot on based on everything that is coming out of the Villa camp and it is really exciting to see what is in store for the forward now that he is back in England and with his former captain Steven Gerrard.
Coutinho set the league alight when he first returned in January but has since gone quiet – hopefully, he can return to form next season when he will feel more at home with less pressure on him to prove himself.
