Aston Villa keep tabs on PSV winger Noni Madueke, Steven Gerrard personally scouts – report

Aston Villa are keeping tabs on PSV Eindhoven star winger Noni Madueke ahead of the summer, according to talkSPORT this week.

The radio station have reported on Twitter that Steven Gerrard personally scouted the English winger in the Europa Conference League showdown with Leicester on Thursday.

Gerrard was at the King Power Stadium with a potential move being made in the upcoming summer window, his second in charge of the club.

Writing on their official Twitter account, talkSPORT shared the major update with attacking reinforcements clearly targeted at Villa Park.

“Breaking: Aston Villa are keeping tabs on PSV’s Noni Madueke,” they wrote.

“Steven Gerrard was at the King Power Stadium last night to watch the winger against Leicester City.”

This would be a very exciting signing, with Madueke another example of a young English talent going abroad to get first-team opportunities in recent years.

We have seen Jude Bellingham do the same with Borussia Dortmund, and look how far his game has progressed playing with some of Europe’s biggest leagues and competitions.

Leon Bailey has not yet worked out as a big signing, and with the likes of Anwar El Ghazi likely to move on, another winger to improve us in the final third would be a smart move.

Gerrard will view this summer as a window where he can finally mould this side to his liking, with little chance of doing that in the middle of a season in the January market.

It’s time to build on this positive start and bringing in Madueke would certainly be a smart move to kickstart that.
