Aston Villa monitor contract situation of Manchester United star Paul Pogba
Aston Villa are said to be one of the clubs watching closely as Manchester United star Paul Pogba looks likely to leave Old Trafford at the end of the season, according to Neil Custis.
The Sun journalist has shared that Newcastle are another in the Premier League watching as the French international could be available on a free transfer.
It is suggested, however, that Juventus, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are the current favourites to get a deal over the line for Pogba and his next step.
This would be a long shot, but it would be a huge signing.
It has already been shared that Steven Gerrard will be backed heavily in the summer to carry on his work in January and the end of the season moving forward.
Birmingham Mail reported on Thursday [24 March] that Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens will make the funds available with three players wanted.
One of those positions wanting to be strengthened is in the heart of midfield defensively, and there would be question marks surrounding whether or not Pogba could be that man.
Attitude.
Breaking the barriers from a hard-working squad and bringing in so-called superstars can always be a change that either works positively or negatively.
Philippe Coutinho worked, and the Brazilian is still getting better as he could change his loan into a permanent switch in the summer from Barcelona.
Pogba, on the other hand, is known to have a poor attitude in the media, and that isn’t exactly the type of player we need as we push towards European football.
Of course, everyone knows the class that the French star possesses, but will he be able to roll his sleeves up in that battle with the teams around us all pushing for Europe in years to come?
Right now, it is all hypothetical with Real Madrid, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain all favourites, as well as likely having much bigger budgets – time will tell, though.
