The plane trail that could land Zion Suzuki at Aston Villa within hours
Zion Suzuki could be edging closer to a move from Parma to Aston Villa.
The Japan international appears to be the first-choice option for the next shot-stopper at Villa Park.
That has come as a surprise to many as it had looked as if the 23-year-old was on his way to Paris Saint-Germain this summer.
A switch to the French capital is now off and a B6 move could now be back on the cards.
The door is open for that deal as Emi Martinez's future is up in the air as links to Juventus emerge, yet again.
Suzuki may be edging closer to a done deal at Villa Park as representatives look to be en route to make a transfer happen.
Aston Villa plane set to land in Parma
A move for the 2002-born talent looks set to accelerate in the coming days.
Villa need to get their situation sorted as the Premier League season begins away to Brighton in a week exactly.
They don't appear to be wasting any time as the private jet associated with the B6 club is now set to jet into Parma.
The Cessna Citation Excel aircraft known as "SPA-IN" is currently in Valencia, but will soon depart for Parma at 12:05pm on Sunday.
It will remain in Italy for just 18 minutes before departing for Birmingham to land at 2:30pm.
That feels like too much of a coincidence as Villa remain hopeful of signing Suzuki from Parma.
For the avoidance of doubt, the jet was also in Salzburg between 11 and 13 August before jetting to Dusseldorf as representatives moved to watch the Super Cup and a friendly against Borussia Monchengladbach.
When could Aston Villa sign Suzuki?
If the goalkeeper is to board the jet to the Midlands, there is every chance that a deal could be done within days.
Villa already know how much they want to pay for the Japanese shot-stopper, so that doesn't appear to be an issue.
Martinez may be the one to delay proceedings as his potential move to Juventus isn't progressing at this stage.
The Old Lady are interested, but are also considering other options right now.
It all makes for an interesting transfer merry-go-round, but Villa may progress and sign Suzuki regardless of what happens.
