Morgan Rogers' Arsenal stance emerges as bidding war to drive up Aston Villa price
Aston Villa supporters are gearing up for the brutal reality that Morgan Rogers could be sold this summer.
Rogers, 23, has become a key figure for both Villa and England since joining from Middlesbrough in February 2024.
His performances have attracted plenty of interest from elsewhere, with Premier League champions Arsenal predominant among his list of suitors.
There is not expected to be much movement for the time being, with the attacking midfielder currently away representing England at the World Cup.
But there is the chance that things could gather pace once the tournament is over.
And Villa may be hoping that interest from several suitors could end up driving Rogers' price if a sale does happen.
Are Arsenal leading the race for Aston Villa ace Morgan Rogers?
Rogers has quickly established himself as one of the leading attacking midfielders in the Premier League.
It has long-since been reported that Arsenal have made him one of their leading targets for the summer transfer window.
talkSPORT has now revealed that Rogers himself is keen on making the move to the Premier League champions this summer.
They add that Mikel Arteta is looking to bolster his attacking options after a season that saw Arsenal win the title, but losing the Champions League final to PSG.
Speaking of PSG, talkSPORT's report adds that the Ligue 1 and Champions League victors are among Rogers' suitors, and the player is open to the idea of playing abroad.
Manchester United and Chelsea have both been credited with an interest in the past, too.
What is Aston Villa's stance on selling Rogers?
It has previously been reported that Villa may have to sell Rogers to keep within the constraints of financial parameters.
It has also been suggested that Villa would be willing to lower their sale price to £80million.
However, Mail Sport writer Tom Collomosse has reported that Nassef Sawiris is determined to ignore offers for Rogers unless they receive a bid over £100m.
One thing seems certain, interest in Rogers will not go away this summer, especially with so many of the big guns in the running for his signature.
It feels like a saga that could develop over the coming weeks, and potentially run towards the latter stages of the summer transfer window.
