Morgan Rogers is a man in demand as the summer transfer window heats up.

Aston Villa have been steadfast in their stance that their prized asset is not for sale this summer.

But that has now stopped the rumour mill from swirling that the 23-year-old could depart Villa Park this summer.

Premier League champions Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move, while Paris Saint-Germain and Chelse are also said to be interested.

With Rogers currently representing England at the World Cup, there is unlikely to be much movement in the very immediate future.

But Manchester City may have accidentally boosted Villa's hopes of retaining Rogers anyway.

Aston Villa have a precedent for Morgan Rogers sale now

There remain persistent reports that Villa may have to make a big-money sale this summer due to the contstraints of spending rules.

It had previously been suggested that Rogers could be the man to dart Villa Park to help that compliance.

But Villa are becoming increasingly adamant that Rogers will not be leaving the club this summer.

And, according to the Athletic, Arsenal's hopes of landing Rogers have been complicated by Manchester City's signing of Elliot Anderson.

City paid a reported fee of £116million to sign Anderson from Nottingham Forest, which Villa are intent on using as a precedent the Athletic says.

How much do Aston Villa want for Morgan Rogers?

If Villa do agree to sanction an exit for Rogers this summer, they will not do so on the cheap.

The Times journalist Matt Law has reported that Villa would demand a fee of £130m to cash in on Rogers.

You have to applaud Villa on this one really, because Rogers is a top Premier League talent and England international.

If Anderson commanded such a big fee to join to Man City, then it stands to reason Villa should demand more for Rogers.

It may be the case that there is a demand for his signature, but Villa have a demand to protect their own interests too.
