Jack Grealish transfer preference named as Fabrizio Romano shares Aston Villa contact
Jack Grealish continues to be linked with a sensational return to Aston Villa.
The 30-year-old left his boyhood club in a £100million transfer to Manchester City back in August 2021.
Since leaving Villa, Grealish has become a Premier League and Champions League winner with City.
However, he found himself out of favour at the Etihad Stadium and was shipped out on loan to Everton last term.
He was proving a popular figure with the Toffees fanbase until injury ended his spell back in February.
Grealish has been involved with City early in the new campaign, but could depart before the end of the transfer window.
Fabrizio Romano drops Jack Grealish update at Aston Villa
Grealish's exit left a sour taste with some Villa supporters, but the chance for the local lad to return would certainly be an interesting prospect.
New City boss Enzo Maresca is a fan of the England international, but it is looking increasingly likely he will depart in the coming days.
Prominent transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano posted a new update surrounding Grealish's future on Wednesday.
The Italy took to X to report that both Villa and Everton have been in touch with Grealish's camp over a deal.
He added that Grealish is set to decide on his future in the "next days", as the possibility of a B6 return gathers pace.
Sunderland have also been linked with a deal and can offer Europa League football, but Romano said there is nothing concrete in terms of talks with the Black Cats.
What is Jack Grealish's preference amid Aston Villa return reports?
While Villa continue to be named as a potential destination for Grealish, there is no guarantee he will return.
Indeed, according to the i Paper, Grealish's preference is to secure a return to Everton before the end of the window.
The newspaper reported that the Toffees would prefer to do another loan deal for Grealish, having opted not to pay a £50million option they held on him earlier in the summer.
Everton are said to be looking at other options, though, as Grealish's next destination remains up in the air.
