Gabby Agbonlahor thinks Aston Villa fans would love to see Jack Grealish return to the club.

England winger Grealish departed Villa Park for Manchester City in a £100million deal back in August 2021.

Grealish, 30, has won three Premier League titles and the Champions League among seven honours he has collected with City.

However, he fell out of favour at the Etihad Stadium and joined Everton on loan last season.

He was enjoying a decent spell at Hill Dickinson Stadium before injury curtailed his season back in February.

Grealish's future now remains shrouded in doubt, and former Villa favourite Agbonlahor has a theory about a potential return to B6.

What does Gabby Agbonlahor think about a Jack Grealish Aston Villa return?

Grealish was a boyhood Villa fan, who rose through the ranks to become a favourite with the Villans faithful.

However, his departure for City left a sour taste for some supporters, and he has often been jeered by sections of the Villa fanbase.

But Agbonlahor, a friend of Grealish's, thinks fans would welcome Grealish back to the club if the opportunity arose this summer.

However, his theory is that the return will not happen because Unai Emery does not fancy doing a deal.

As such, he thinks that a return to Everton with David Moyes could be on the cards.

Speaking live on talkSPORT, Agbonlahor said: "I'm not sure about Villa, but I think Everton will take him.

"I think David Moyes loved him and obviously he had that had injury.

"I don't know (about Villa), I think Jack would love to go back to Villa, the fans would him love to go back.

"But it's down to what the manager wants isn't it? Is the manager looking at other options? I don't know what the manager's thinking."

Would Jack Grealish return make sense for Aston Villa?

It's a million-dollar question isn't it?

On the one hand, Grealish is an England international, who has won a plethora of trophies over the past five years.

But is he the same profile of player he was when he last played at Villa? Probably not, and he is also five years older now.

Having said that, Grealish did impress for Everton before suffering his injury, and he does have that undoubted "X-factor".

With Villa having lost some big players in Morgan Rogers and Youri Tielemans, Grealish could add some spark to Villa's line-up.

It could all be a moot point, though, because Emery might just simply not fancy the move and, given all he's done for Villa, the Spaniard should be given implicit trust when it comes to shaping the squad.
