Inside Aston Villa's bid to woo Toni Fernandez as deal now agreed
Aston Villa have learned the outcome of their Toni Fernandez pursuit at Barcelona.
It has been anything short of a quiet transfer window for the claret and blue outfit.
Ignoring the number of high-profile exits, plenty of exciting fresh faces have come in through the door in B6.
That was on show despite defeat against Arsenal on Monday, as the focus now turns back to the market.
It is now deadline day at Bodymoor Heath and the effort to sign Fernandez has now reached an end.

How Aston Villa worked to seal Toni Fernandez deal
It looks as if Taylor Harwood-Bellis and Ibrahim Mbaye are going to come in on the final day of the window in the Midlands.
They will both make a difference and improve Unai Emery's squad ready for what is to come this season.
It could have been three fresh faces coming in on deadline day if things had gone slightly differently.
Fernandez was a target for the Villans, so much so that Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo reported on Tuesday that the 18-year-old was given tours of various clubs interested in his signature over the summer.
The Spanish newspaper credited Villa with interest, alongside fellow Premier League outfit Leeds United.
Neither have won the race for the teenage attacker as he has now made a decision on his future away from Camp Nou.
Where is Fernandez going from Barcelona?
With the window set to slam shut, it may be seen as frustrating to have not brought the teenager in.
It seems as if his mind has been made up away from Villa Park as he favours a Serie A switch.
The above report reads that Fernandez is set to join Venezia after accepting their proposal above any other.
The Spaniard is set to make a move in the region of £3.4million, with Barcelona holding 50 per cent of the players rights and a buy-back option.
That is certainly an interesting move, but unlikely to be one Villa will lose sleep over.
