Crysencio Summerville 'fits the bill' at Aston Villa as West Ham forced into sale

Crysencio Summerville could enter the thinking at Aston Villa as their hunt for a new winger goes on.

The Netherlands international is currently preparing for the World Cup after landing a call-up from Ronald Koeman.

That came off the back of a positive campaign at the London Stadium where he caught the eye despite relegation.

The Hammers now find themselves in the Championship with decisions to make over the future of their squad.

Meanwhile, Unai Emery is looking ahead to a season in the Champions League and new signings are going to be necessary.

Summerville could prove to be an option for the Villans as he looks likely to be on the move in the coming weeks or months.

West Ham may have to sell Crysencio Summerville after relegation

The B6 outfit look likely to be once again impacted negatively by the Premier League's financial rules.

Boxing clever is going to play another key role in proceedings over the summer if they want to improve their squad.

It is clear that a winger with pace is near the top of the shopping list after struggles in that area last season.

That could see a move for Summerville make sense as former Villa scout Bryan King believes West Ham could be forced to sell to make up for their monetary losses after relegation.

Speaking exclusively to Villa News, King said: "I would say he fits the bill because West Ham have to sell top players to compensate for the money they're going to lose from the Premier League.

"He'll be one in the reckoning to move on this summer.

"If he's going to move on then Aston Villa are going to be interested and I think he'll cost between £25m-40m."

The wide areas in B6 were arguably the weakest of all despite a massively successful season.

John McGinn, Emi Buendia and Morgan Rogers turned out to be the main options utilised by Emery.

That saw recognised wide men Jadon Sancho, Leon Bailey and even Evann Guessand all struggle to make much of an impact.

Things could change with the introduction of Summerville, who would certainly add pace and creativity to the claret and blue outfit.

That is something that Villa certainly need and it would more than likely spell the end of the road for Bailey in B6.

The Jamaica international has been living on borrowed time for a while and this summer he could be finished after five years.
