Aston Villa fans are looking ahead to the summer transfer window after watching Morocco's clash with Brazil in awe.

In the opening match of their World Cup campaign, the Moroccan's would begin to show why they have earned a 'dark horse' tag this summer.

Going toe to toe with Brazil, they would play out a fiercely contested 1-1 draw on Saturday night - a result unthinkable just a handful of years ago, with the scoreline arguably fair in terms of quality in the squad.

As a result, fans across the globe watched on in awe at some of the talent on show - supporters in the West Midlands included.

After securing a return to the Champions League, fans are beginning to look ahead to the transfer window.

And if it were up to the Villa Park faithful, Unai Emery's squad would be full of Moroccan talent.

In 2026, saying that Morocco sit among the world's best on the international stage would be a fair assessment.

The African nation would take the lead in the 21st minute through Ismael Saibari, following a lovely pass from Brahim Diaz.

Others in the side remained the talking points, with one Villa fan calling for the signing of Azzedine Ounahi, who stole the show at the previous World Cup in 2022.

Ounahi, who plies his trade for Girona, was recently touted as a target for the Villans.

Others would join in on the discussion, mentioning those previous links between the player and club.

Another player mentioned would be Ayyoub Bouaddi, who recently impressed in the middle of the park for Lille at Villa Park, aged just 18.

VfB Stuttgart man Bilal El Khannouss would also get a mention, after making the move to Germany following interest from a hatful of Premier League clubs last summer.

Given Villa's stature as a top competitor once again, they should be among the clubs targeting those who impress this summer.

And with a return to the Champions League on the cards, Emery may be able to use that extra bit of pulling power.

Villa fans are spot on with recruitment direction

After a series of disappointing transfer windows, the Villans absolutely have to get the coming one right.

Emery's squad is not getting any younger, with the majority of the group still the same as the one he inherited back in 2022.

He needs somewhat of a refresh, particularly with the focus on younger players of the ilk of El Khannouss and Bouaddi.

These names may not necessarily be ones Villa can attract, especially given the permanent deal that sees El Khannouss join Stuttgart going through this summer, but targets of similar stature must be on the shortlist.

After winning the Europa League, the hope is that the B6 outfit can continue to shift through the gears.

This can only happen with a young core ready to take the mantle from the established stars in the Midlands.
