Aston Villa are expected to offer Marco Asensio a large financial package to join the club permanently after Paris Saint-Germain's transfer demands were made clear.

Asensio has made a big impression since arriving in the West Midlands.

The 29-year-old scored and impressed once again as Unai Emery's side beat Club Brugge 3-0 at Villa Park on Wednesday (12 March) to book their place in the quarter-final of the Champions League, which will see Villa face off with Asensio's parent club, PSG.

It has already been suggested previously that Villa would have a £25million bid accepted by PSG for Asensio.

However, it appears as though the club could sign the Spaniard permanelty for an even smaller fee.

PSG transfer demands emerge for permanent Asensio sale

As reported by Give Me Sport (11 March), Villa are already in talks with PSG about signing Asensio permanently. The Ligue 1 outfit could even accept a bid of £12.6million to move the midfielder on.

Therefore, ex-Villa scout Bryan King - speaking exclusively to Villa News - doesn't see any reason why the playmaker shouldn't be signed, and expects Villa to make an enticing financial offer to the player.

"Sign him now," King said.

"If that price is true, then get him signed up before the end of the season. If he is coming for that kind of fee, when he is worth a lot more, there is obviously going to be quite a big financial package for him.

"It looks as though he is enjoying his football for the first time in a year. He is playing for a good club in front of big crowds and big competitions.

"He wasn't a big star at PSG, because there were some bigger stars there, but he is becoming a big star at Aston Villa, and I could see him being a big star for Aston Villa in the future. I like him, he is a very talented footballer."

Aston Villa need to sign Asensio from PSG

At £12.6m, the risk is incredibly low, while the potential upside is huge. The only problem for Villa is other clubs circling based on that price and Asensio's impressive form.

However, Emery will hope that the ex-Real Madrid star's time with Villa already convinces him to sign for the club.
