PSG ‘to accept £25m Marco Asensio bid’ as three-year Aston Villa deal mooted
Unai Emery will be keen to keep hold of Marco Asensio permanently after the 29-year-old’s fast start to life at Aston Villa.
Asensio arrived at Villa Park on loan along with Marcus Rashford late in the winter transfer window.
However, unlike Rashford, Emery’s side do not have an option to make Asensio’s stay permanent in their loan agreement with Paris Saint-Germain.
Therefore, any permanent deal would need to be negotiated with PSG in the summer. However, Emery has been offered some optimism that a deal for Asensio would be more than achievable.

Aston Villa ‘to try and sign Asensio permanently’
Asensio has already scored four goals in his first six games for Villa. Therefore, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the West Midlands-based club were already keen to make the attacking midfielder’s stay in the Premier League permanent.
And ex-Villa scout Bryan King – speaking exclusively to Villa News – thinks an offer of around £25million would be enough to secure Asensio’s signature.
“I think Villa will make a starting offer of around £20m to sign Asensio,” King said.
“He might cost more, because of his pedigree, but we’re talking about a quality player here. He is Spanish, which I imagine means Emery would want him permanently.
| Spain | Appearances | Goals |
| Marco Asensio | 38 | 2 |
“Bring him in at 29, offer him a three-year deal, that could make sense for Villa. However, he joined PSG on a free transfer. Therefore, I’d imagine he is on big wages in Paris. They’ll be looking to get around £25m for him in any transfer.
“If Villa could get a player of that quality, for that price, that would be fantastic business. I’m surprised he wasn’t playing regularly for PSG. However, things obviously didn’t work out, and he has been allowed to head out on loan.”
Aston Villa should sign Asensio from PSG
Based on the start he has made, Asensio seems pretty happy at Villa Park.
Therefore, if his future does lie away from Paris, Emery should be doing everything he can to get the club to sign the Spaniard permanently.
And for £25m, that would certainly represent a transfer bargain, with personal terms likely to be made easier by Asensio’s stay with Villa thus far.
