Aston Villa look set to wave goodbye to Leon Bailey in a move to Hull City.

The Jamaica international has been seen as one name who is certainly on the chopping block this summer.

Unai Emery has needed to sell players before he can buy and has already seen Morgan Rogers and Youri Tielemans depart.

The 28-year-old could soon follow them out the door as a departure is looming.

The winger has been strongly linked with a move to the Tigers after their promotion to the Premier League.

Bailey is edging closer to a Hull City switch as details of his contract have now emerged.

What is the structure of Leon Bailey's move to Hull City?

The 1997-born attacker signed from Bayer Leverkusen in 2021 and was met with massive excitement.

He was coming off the back of 25 goal involvements in Germany, but only bettered that tally once in claret and blue.

Outside of the 2023/24 season, he has been a pretty constant source of frustration.

That sparked his loan move to Roma last summer and he now looks set to seal a permanent exit.

A move to Hull is now edging closer as Hull Live reported on Thursday that a deal could be done within "the next couple of days".

Villa are in the final stages of agreeing a deal that could end with Bailey signing a long-term contract at the MKM Stadium.

That could soon see the attacker move on from B6 in a move that the Villans have been desperate for.

What is Bailey's contract situation at Aston Villa?

Villa News previously outlined Bailey's contract in claret and blue after links away from Villa Park last summer.

That came off the back of him putting pen to paper on new terms in February 2024.

He is under contract in B6 until the summer of 2027 and is paid a reported £120,000-per-week as part of that deal.

That equates to around £6.2million for the year, so it would be massive to get that off the books at Bodymoor Heath.

It is unclear what Hull will be paying for his services, but Villa won't care as long as he moves on.
