Why Aston Villa's best business could yet be in Leon Bailey as Hull City latest shared

Aston Villa winger Leon Bailey continues to be linked with a move to Hull City.

The Jamaica international appears to be facing the exit door after five years in claret and blue.

Things haven't worked out recently for the winger as his struggles have been clear for all to see.

The 28-year-old contributed to just two Villa goals last season after returning in January.

That saw his loan deal at Roma cut short as he seriously struggled in Italy.

Another move appears to be on the cards as Hull have their eyes on a deal right now.

How does Leon Bailey feel about a move to Hull City?

The links to the newly promoted Tigers certainly came out of the blue to many in B6.

Sergej Jakirovic is clearly looking to add Premier League experience to his squad this summer and the Jamaican could add to that.

Jack Butland and ex-Villa man Matt Targett have already come in, with Bailey potentially set to be next.

That comes after Hull Live reported on Thursday that talks with the Villans have continued for the winger.

Bailey is said to want a move to the MKM Stadium as he isn't part of Unai Emery's plans.

No agreement has been reached at this stage, but he has been described as a "firm target" for the Tigers.

How much could Aston Villa demand for Bailey?

At this point, an exit for Bailey would actually see Hull do the Villans a favour.

The Jamaican is done at Villa Park and has simply been used as a stop-gap in the past six months.

He has been a great servant and is respected by fans, but his race has to be run.

Despite signing him for around £30million from Bayer Leverkusen, there is no chance of a profit this summer.

If they could get him off the books and bag anywhere between £5m and £10m, it could be some of the best business they do this summer.

The ball is now in Hull's court as they now have to make a decision about their next steps.
