Aston Villa are one of the teams interested in striking a deal for Ajax midfielder Kenneth Taylor, according to CaughtOffside.

The online source reported [14 November] that Arsenal, Newcastle United and Napoli are all keeping tabs on the 22-year-old, though the Dutch side are not keen on allowing him to leave.

It is understood that, while Ajax would prefer to keep their international star, a £29million (€35million) transfer offer could persuade them into selling Taylor.

Aston Villa to target Ajax star Kenneth Taylor?

Taylor would certainly be an interesting addition to Unai Emery's team, whether he is targeted during the January transfer window or later on in the summer.

At 22 years of age, he already has 134 senior appearances for Ajax to his name and has won four caps for the Netherlands national team, proving that he has a keen eye for goal in that time.

From the centre of midfield, he has notched 25 goals and 19 assists in the first team, having recorded 22 goal contributions in 60 games at Under-21 level.

Ajax have experienced a couple of turbulent seasons recently but only finished as low as fifth in the Eredivisie in the last three campaigns, but the allure of Villa Park could still be too much.

Emery has led the Villans to the Champions League, with the team in eighth place after four matches, and are currently challenging for the top four spots in the Premier League.

The centre of midfield at Villa Park could do with a little more reinforcement, especially with Boubacar Kamara sustaining a brand-new injury, so Youri Tielemans and Amadou Onana could welcome some support.

If Taylor is available for just £29million, it could be a sensible purchase for the Villans to make, especially given his experience in Europe and on the international stage.
