Asensio to jet in for Aston Villa medical amid salary update - Fabrizio Romano

Marco Asensio is set to fly to the UK for his Aston Villa medical ahead of a move from PSG, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The transfer specialist reported on 2 February that the Villans will cover 100 per cent of the Spain international's salary until June.

The Ligue 1 giants have accepted the B6 club's offer of a straight six-month loan deal without an option to buy for the 29-year-old.

Now the versatile attacking midfielder is set to land in the UK before a medical on Sunday (2 February) ahead of a temporary switch to Villa Park.

With just one day remaining until the 3 February transfer deadline, it is clear that Monchi has stepped up efforts to bring players to Bodymoor Heath.
