Aston Villa's Premier League finish has been predicted by the Opta supercomputer.

The Villans season is set to start on 23 August when they travel to face Brighton.

After last campaign's success, Unai Emery will want to continue the excellent foundations he has laid down at Villa Park.

Champions League football is returning, and the B6 outfit will look to make that a regular occurrence going forward.

Whether that can be the case according to the supercomputer has now emerged.

And the Spaniard may need to work his magic in order to bring Champions League qualification back to the Villans again.

Where are Aston Villa expected to finish in 2026-2027 season?

Aston Villa's squad is already looking much different to last season's with many of the core members of the squad no longer at Villa Park or on the verge of leaving.

However, the arrivals of Joao Gomes, Johan Manzambi, Matteo Ruggieri and Zion Suzuki will hope to keep Aston Villa near the top of the table.

Now, according to Opta Analyst, Emery's side will do just that by competing for the top five.

Villa's final position has been predicted to be in fifth place, with a total of 56.79 points.

However, things are tight in that area of the table, with just 3.93 points separating them from eighth and 4.18 points separating them from third in the table.

So, it could turn out to be a tough battle for Villa.

And with fifth predicted, they would have to hope for English dominance in Europe for an extra Champions League place in the Premier League.

Could Aston Villa push for more this season?

After winning the Europa League, appetite for more trophies will be increasing in B6.

Emery is a serial winner and that is shown by his trophy collection throughout the years.

Aston Villa are underdogs for the title, with a 4.67 per cent chance of lifting the trophy.

However, perhaps focus could be put on one of the cup competitions this year.

In the FA Cup, Emery did take the Villans to the semi-final in 2024-2025, but they were defeated by eventual winners Crystal Palace.

In the Carabao Cup, they have underperformed with the fourth round the furthest Aston Villa have gone since Emery's appointment.

Either way, hopefully, there can be something to celebrate this season for supporters.
