Alan Shearer has been left blown away by what he saw from Nicolas Jackson as Aston Villa won away at Tottenham.

The B6 outfit made the trip to the capital on Saturday and came away with a much-needed three points.

It was a massively professional performance from everyone involved in claret and blue, sealing a 3-2 win.

Goals from the Senegal international, Johan Manzambi and Emi Buendia made the difference on the day.

That has sparked many names to pick up rave reviews for their exploits at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Jackson has felt that more than most as Shearer becomes the latest to chip in.

Until Saturday, he had only one goal to his name for the Villans and hadn't truly looked like scoring in other outings.

Frustration surrounded his early substitution against Nottingham Forest last time out, but Unai Emery didn't follow suit in North London.

Jackson was on top of his game against Spurs and got his goal to prove that.

It says a lot that Premier League record scorer, Shearer, was blown away by his overall performance.

Speaking via Match of the Day on Saturday, he said: "I loved his performance. He gave the two centre-halves a torrid afternoon and he battered them. His physicality and mentally running in behind, he was just too good for them. I loved this, the aggression.

"So many times he found himself in that position just in between the two centre-halves, that was the start of things to come. They couldn't live with him. As soon as the ball goes backwards, he's away and he's running.

"The touch and the finish [for his goal] is absolutely outstanding. You've got to look to him for consistency, if he keeps doing that he could be a very cute signing."

Praise doesn't come much higher than that for Jackson as the stats prove just how good he was against the Lilywhites.

The 25-year-old featured across 88 minutes and certainly made each of those count.

He racked up 42 touches on the day and maintained a 100 per cent pass accuracy.

That saw him create one chance for a teammate, but not before taking five shots of his own in the capital.

His defensive ability from the front was also clear to see as he completed four defensive actions and won seven duels.

What sums up his showing is the 20 sprints and 10.4km-worth of distance covered from the number nine position.

It was a complete performance from Jackson as he made a point in claret and blue.
