Aston Villa player ratings vs Tottenham: Aaron Wan-Bissaka stinker and hooked, 8/10 makes presence felt
Aston Villa secured a 3-2 win away to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
Both sides came into an encounter at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in need of a win.
With an extended international break coming up, three points was a massive need for both sides.
They ultimately belonged to the Villans after Johan Manzambi scored his first goal in claret and blue.
Nicolas Jackson made that two in the second half before Emi Buendia made sure of the win with a sensational strike before Conor Gallagher and Jan Paul van Hecke scored for the hosts.
Villa put in a complete performance that was professional - up until late on, at least - as we now rate each players' efforts out of 10.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka far from good enough vs Tottenham
With Matty Cash once again starting on the bench, Aaron Wan-Bissaka featured from the outset.
He hasn't quite shown himself to be at the required level so far, and that continued in N17.
The DR Congo international looked tired and his quality on the ball was seriously lacking.
That was totally summed up when he was hooked at half time by Unai Emery as the Spaniard made his feelings clear.
Wan-Bissaka can't be surprised having lost three duels within 45 minutes.
He may have won two tackles, but being dribbled past once is one time too many.
The 28-year-old was dispossessed once as he lost out on a dribble, leaving the Villa boss with little choice but to make a change.
How good was Johan Manzambi for Aston Villa?
It was a surprise to many when the Switzerland international was given the nod to start in North London.
It is clear proof of the faith that Emery has in the summer signing already.
That was repaid when the 20-year-old found the net to open the scoring in the first-half.
He went on to be consistently involved in everything going forward in claret and blue with another two shots and two chances created.
Add in his four dribble attempts and two line-breaking passes and it proves how active he was.
That work later paid off when he grabbed an assist for Jackson's strike.
Emery will have been pleased to see his seven defensive actions and four duel wins as he made a difference at both ends of the pitch.
