Aston Villa attacker Morgan Rogers has received his first-ever England call up for the games against Greece and the Republic of Ireland, according to David Ornstein.

The 22-year-old who's had an exceptional season thus far for Unai Emery's side will certainly be over the moon.

His hard work has paid off and it's caught the attention of Lee Carlsley who has named him in his final Three Lions side as reported by the Athletic's Ornstein on Monday, 11 November.

Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers can also impress Thomas Tuchel

While Thomas Tuchel does not officially take over until next year, he will have eyes on these games and a good performance from Rogers would certainly help go a long way.

The English winger has been a regular under Emery this season, playing in 11 league games and four Champions League encounters.

He's found the back of the net thrice in the Premier League and has provided two assists while he's also set up a goal in Europe's elite club competition.

Rogers has also impressed when it comes to taking on players as he averages 2.5 dribbles completed per 90 minutes, according to Fbref.

This puts him in the 80th percentile of wingers and attacking midfielders in Europe's top five leagues, showcasing he's on the right track.

Morgan Rogers works tirelessly out of possession for Aston Villa

It's also worth noting that Rogers offers plenty on the defensive side of things as well.

His average of 1.01 clearances per 90 minutes puts him in the 96th percentile of players in his position - which is remarkable, to say the least.

The 22-year-old also averages over a block a game so he can do the dirty work too for his team.

Rogers' pass accuracy of 75 per cent suggests that he's not among the safest passers but is always looking to play the adventurous pass.

Hopefully, he will do well for the Three Lions and will establish himself as a permanent fixture in Thomas Tuchel's plans.
