Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers is slightly upset that he's not been able to start either of England's first two World Cup games.

The attacking midfielder has been unable to start in the games against Croatia and Ghana, but will be hoping for the nod for the clash with Panama this Saturday.

Rogers has accumulated 35 minutes of playing time in cameo appearances from England's first two games, but admits he wants to start every game he can.

The Villa star had 25 goal involvements in 55 games for Unai Emery last season, but Thomas Tuchel is yet to give him a deserved chance in North America.

The 23-year-old has been the second choice to Anthony Gordon and Jude Bellingham, though he'd rather the latter take his place than anyone, being close mates with the Real Madrid sensation.

Rogers has now spoken out ahead of England's game against Panama, and his words are completely vindicated.

Morgan Rogers shares feelings towards Thomas Tuchel's decisions

Rogers has been speaking to the media after England's first two games and revealed his sadness at being left out of the starting eleven by Tuchel so far.

In comments made to ITV and reported by the Express and Star, Rogers said: “Expect is the wrong word. Hopeful, optimistic.

"Disappointment, of course, I’m disappointed. I want to play every game. I want to show what I’m about and show it on the biggest stage."

Rogers admitted that he "100 per cent" believes he can play in the same squad as Bellingham, which should be the case considering Gordon's performances.

The Villa star had a 0.12 expected assists rate in the Premier League, 0.02 better than Bellingham, but that's not to say the pair shouldn't start together.

Rogers had a 100 per cent dribbling accuracy against Ghana, and created 0.30 xA in the 18 minutes that he was on the field in the 4-2 win over Croatia.

To put that into perspective, Gordon managed just 0.01 xA in the 72 minutes he played against Croatia, and it's no surprise considering the former Newcastle man grabbed just two assists in the Premier League last season.

But there's something about the Panama match that surely shows Rogers is ready to be tested.

Rogers is the X-factor England need; Panama are the perfect test

Panama have already conceded 2.90 in expected goals across their first two games, as England struggled to create clear-cut chances in the draw with Ghana.

Considering Rogers has that X-factor that England currently miss, Panama's leaky defence only makes it obvious that Tuchel needs to start him this weekend.

The Villa star created 1.15 dribbles per 90 in the Premier League last season, while also creating 1.29 chances on average every match.

With England's qualification to the knockout stages already secured, the Panama game could be make-or-break for his chances at the World Cup

If Rogers doesn't start, he doesn't stand a chance in the knockout phase, even though he should be in there.
