Aston Villa's Morgan Rogers is someone who Gary Neville thinks can have a big impact for England at the World Cup.

The Villa star is yet to make a start for Thomas Tuchel in North America, but has managed to get 35 minutes under his belt in cameo appearances.

Rogers was allowed 18 minutes against Croatia and looked lively in the 17 minutes he was on the field in the 0-0 draw to Ghana.

The 23-year-old has been central to transfer news back in England, with suggestions that he could move to Arsenal for less than £100million this summer.

Villa Park chiefs are said to be ignoring any transfer noise unless an offer for their key playmaker is submitted at well above £100m, amid links to Arsenal and Chelsea.

However, Rogers remains focused on the task at hand with England, and Neville has tipped the Aston Villa man for a big impact against Panama, if given the chance on Saturday.

Gary Neville rightly raises Morgan Rogers point ahead of Panama clash

England sit top of Group L after two games with four points and a plus two goal difference.

Despite an entertaining opening win against Croatia, the Three Lions were unable to break through Ghana's defence last time out after having 79 per cent possession.

Tuchel's side had 19 shots on goal with just three being attempts on target, as an expected goal rate of 1.36 wasn't capitalised on in the end.

Rogers replaced Jude Bellingham in the 74th minute and went on to boast an impressive 100 per cent dribble rate in a 10-touch cameo appearance.

While speaking to Sky Sports this Thursday, Neville explained how the attacking midfielder could be of use against Panama, especially if they setup similar to how Ghana did.

Neville said: "I didn't think that Marcus Rashford should have come on that left-hand side, I thought it should have been Rogers. He's got more legs in him and game intelligence.

"If Panama are going to be very difficult to break down, you're going to need players with a little bit more invention in the game. I think that's Rogers or [Eberechi] Eze."

Rogers played an integral role in Aston Villa's success last season under Unai Emery, with most of his good moments coming from central attacking areas of the final third.

The former Middlesbrough man racked up a whopping 25 goals and assists in 55 games for the Villans, as his end product could be key to finding a way through an expectedly stubborn Panama side.

These stats show Thomas Tuchel what he needs to know for Panama

Rogers created 0.12 expected assists per 90 minutes in the Premier League last season compared to Bellingham's 0.10 in La Liga.

That's not to say the Real Madrid star should be dropped, but more so that Tuchel needs to find a way to play both in central areas of attack for England.

Panama could be the perfect opponents to test this against, as they've already conceded 2.90 xG in their first two World Cup games of the tournament.

Rogers is yet to fail England when given a proper chance, and Tuchel should trust him this Saturday, just ask any Aston Villa fan.
