Aston Villa: How much prize money Unai Emery’s side have collected for Europa League win
Aston Villa are taking home an eight-figure collection of prize money after going all the way in this season’s Europa League.
Unai Emery‘s side are champions of Europe, as the Villa boss’ love affair with the Europa League continues.
Indeed, this is now the fifth time he’s lifted the trophy in his managerial career, doing so on three occasions with Sevilla, once with Villarreal and now with the Villans respectively.
His team made light work of Freiburg in Istanbul too, with Morgan Rogers‘ 58th-minute goal truly starting the Villa party both in the stadium, back at home and across the world.
Lifting the trophy and being able to call yourselves European champions is the real prize, but Villa’s finances are going to be significantly boosted as well thanks to their run in the competition.

How much money have Aston Villa made for Europa League win?
Villa posted £140million losses for 2024-25 in their most recent financial accounts, with the football club continuing to be in a precarious financial position over the years.
As such, any additional revenue in terms of prize money and Champions League qualification is massive for the Villans.

So, just how much prize money have Aston Villa won from their 2025-26 Europa League-winning campaign?
Well, as outlined in a report from The Scotsman, teams automatically receive a fixed starting fee of €4.31m euros/£3.7m for being in the competition.
From there, each league phase win was worth €450,000/£389,000, and Villa won seven games in this stage of the competition, so that brings their total from this section to £2.7m.
Emery’s men finished second in the league phase, and placing in the top eight saw you earn €600,000/£519,000.

The knockout stages prize money was as follows:
- Play-off round: €300,000/£259,000
- Round of 16: €1.75m/£1.5m
- Quarter-finals: €2.5m/£2.1m
- Semi-finals: €4.5m/£3.8m
- Final: €7m/£6m
- Winners: €6m/5.1m
So, when we add all of those figures up, that brings together a grand prize money total of £23.3m for Aston Villa’s 2025-26 Europa League campaign.
Europa League money can go towards North Stand costs
£23.3m isn’t a massive sum of money by today’s standards in elite football circles, but it’s certainly not the kind of sum you find on the floor either.
Indeed, it arrives at an ideal time too, as Villa Park’s North Stand undergoes it’s redevelopment project.
That will reportedly cost Aston Villa around £100m, so this injection of Europa League prize money can effectively cover a quarter of its total cost.
Whatever Villa choose to put their winnings towards, it’s absolutely a welcome bonus to top off what has been an unforgettable European adventure this season.
