Everything we know about Jadon Sancho’s Man United contract situation as Aston Villa transfer question remains

Jadon Sancho could be on his way back to Manchester United when his loan spell comes to an end at Aston Villa.

The Englishman signed for the Villans on a deadline day deal from Old Trafford in the summer as Unai Emery went in search of much-needed reinforcements.

Things haven’t exactly been rosy for the winger at Villa Park, with his lack of goals and assists representing a concern for many.

That hasn’t stopped the 25-year-old from featuring pretty regularly in claret and blue, especially with the recent midfield injury crisis.

Sancho’s situation hangs in the balance ahead of the summer, and now Villa News has rounded up everything we know about his contract.

What is Jadon Sancho’s contract situation at Manchester United?

The attacker was such a highly rated signing by the Red Devils at the time, after a stellar run at Borussia Dortmund.

Sancho was seen as one of the best prospects in English football and had already become a regular in the national team under Gareth Southgate.

It didn’t work out at Old Trafford, and he has since departed on three separate loan deals, with Villa Park being his latest destination.

That leaves the ex-Manchester City youngster with just months remaining on his contract, with his contract expiring once the summer window opens.

He is reportedly on a salary of £250,000 per week at Man United, tallying up to a yearly wage in the region of £13million.

Villa are said to be covering 80 per cent of his current deal, with a weekly figure in the region of £200,000 potentially being paid out by the claret and blue outfit.

Aston Villa could sign Sancho on free transfer

It is likely to be a summer of change for the Villans as they appear to be in need of a rebuild after turning a bit stale at times this season.

If that is to be possible, they will need to be clever and picking up out-of-contract stars would certainly be clever in the current market.

Harry Wilson, Julian Brandt, Marcos Senesi and Oscar Mingueza have been linked with summer deals, with Sancho also on the table for a free transfer.

The Englishman is looking increasingly likely to depart Manchester United when his deal ends, and there may not be better options out there for the money involved.
