Who Roberto Olabe has on transfer wishlist as Aston Villa’s summer priority revealed

Aston Villa’s recruitment team believe that they will sign a new right-winger for Unai Emery this summer.

That’s according to Jacob Tanswell, as Total Villa relayed what the Villans’ main transfer priority looks to be on X ahead of the summer window opening in a couple of months.

Villa have had struggles in the final third this season, particularly on the right side, as seen in the failed test of Evann Guessand.

Leon Bailey was recalled from his loan at Roma in the winter window, but has also proved why he was shown the door at B6 in the first place in recent performances.

All signs are pointing towards Roberto Olabe recruiting a new right-sided forward soon, but who does he already have on his transfer list?

Harry Wilson, Ferran Torres and one more eyed up by Roberto OLabe

Olabe and Emery have undeniable chemistry together, given their previous time working with each other in Spain.

The transfer guru was slightly restricted to what they could do in the winter, given NSWE’s ongoing PSR battles, but summer sales could free up some money.

Aston Villa were linked with Barcelona forward Ferran Torres once again in January, who seems to be a right-sided attacker that has been on the Villans’ radar for some time.

Torres’ name was in the mix, but so was young forward Zavier Gozo, who has been impressing in the MLS with Real Salt Lake.

The teenager could be a cheaper option than Torres, as Villa’s interest in Harry Wilson has been well-documented, with the Fulham star’s contract at Craven Cottage set to expire this summer.

What is the latest update from Wilson’s camp?

The Villans are one of several Premier League clubs who are interested in signing Wilson, with the Welshman currently in career-best form.

The Athletic reconfirmed Villa’s attraction for a deal to sign the 28-year-old on Monday, but revealed that the players’ camp are reportedly interested in exploring and expanding their options.

It’s no surprise given the winger has 15 goal involvements in 27 league games this campaign, but it would be a deal that benefits NSWE hugely, given it would come with no fee.

Wilson remains a transfer option that not only remains ideal, but realistic, and Olabe should be doing everything within his powers to pull it off this summer.
