Cesc Fabregas gives swift response on whether Jacobo Ramon could join Aston Villa
Aston Villa have been linked with a move for Spanish defender Jacobo Ramon, with Como manager Cesc Fabregas now interjecting on that possibility.
The Villans will be looking to shore up their defence in the summer, with rumblings around the future of Pau Torres.
Tyrone Mings has also been declining at Villa Park, and an upgrade on the Englishman would certainly be welcome.
Ramon had emerged as a candidate, and his manager, Fabregas, has responded to the recent links away from Italy.

What did Cesc Fabregas say about Jacobo Ramon?
Fabregas and Unai Emery have had a few run-ins throughout their careers. The midfielder’s time at Barcelona crossed over with Emery’s at Valencia.
Additionally, the Como manager played against the Villa manager when the Spaniard was at Arsenal, winning the Europa League with Chelsea.
However, now, it seems Fabregas is getting another one over on his Spanish compatriot.
Unfortunately for Aston Villa, the Como manager gave quite a blunt and direct answer on the possibility of a transfer.
Fabregas said, as reported by Tutto Mercato Web: “Will he stay next year? Yes.”
Of course, with the Italian side seemingly refusing to budge on that stance, Emery will now need to look elsewhere in the summer.
Who else could Aston Villa turn to?
Villa have been linked to plenty of defenders over recent weeks, with Matteo Moretto reporting that Marcos Senesi could be an option for the B6 outfit.
Additionally, Oscar Minguez, who can play at both right-back and centre-back, has been tipped for a move to England.
Overall, it seems that defence will be an area of priority heading into the upcoming window, and hopefully those signings can be made with Champions League football in mind.

Results have begun to slip as of late, and Emery will need to steady the ship once more.
Teams such as Liverpool and Chelsea will be smelling blood in the race for the top five, and Villa must ensure it is not them that gets usurped.
