Wolves vs Aston Villa injury and suspension latest as six players set to miss out

Aston Villa travel to Wolves in the Premier League on Friday, with plenty of casualties already reported in both squads.

It is a West Midlands derby for Unai Emery, who will be hoping for a better performance than the reverse fixture.

Although Aston Villa beat Wolves 1-0, the away side were perhaps the better team on the day.

Rob Edwards, who has played for the Villa Park club, will be looking to get one over on his former employers after that disappointment.

The B6 outfit are on track to achieve Champions League football for next season, and a slip-up against bottom-of-the-table Wolves cannot be afforded despite the six-point gap to sixth place.

Now, that effort has been boosted after the latest team news update.

Alysson available for Aston Villa – but here’s who could miss out

Friday night’s game will certainly have that derby feel, as Wolves, despite looking all but confirmed for relegation, will want to thwart Villa’s hopes of Champions League football.

There is some good news for Emery ahead of the trip to Wolverhampton, as he has said that Alysson will likely be in the squad to face the Old Gold.

Additionally, Marco Bizot’s suspension has finalised, leaving him available to feature on the bench.

For Wolves, they will be without Ladislav Krejci after his red card last time out, who has been one of their better performers across the season.

Meanwhile, Hwang Hee-chan is close to a return but will be unlikely to be ready to face Villa.

Harvey Elliott is also sidelined, but due to his current loan situation, he was always unlikely to feature anyway.

Why Villa fans will be eager to see Alysson in action

After signing for Aston Villa in the winter window, the Villa faithful have been eagerly awaiting to watch the young Brazilian in action.

However, so far, they have only been able to see him for a total of 16 minutes across all competitions.

The 19-year-old arrived with a knee injury, and after returning and coming off the bench against Brighton, he sustained another setback.

With Emery expecting him to be involved, the travelling Villans could get to watch the exciting talent for only just a second time in 55 days.
