Unai Emery in perfect position to complete 26-year first in Aston Villa vs Leeds United
Unai Emery has a fantastic chance of completing the double over Leeds this season when they travel to Villa Park on Saturday.
The Villans have excelled in the top flight as they currently sit third in the table and trail league leaders Arsenal by just seven points.
Villa have 50 points from their 26 Premier League matches this season, which is the third time they’ve reached this total in as few games, after 2008-09 (51 in 25 games) and 2023-24 (52 in 26 games).
Although Leeds have only lost twice since December, Emery‘s side are certainly the favourites to secure a third successive win over them.

Aston Villa can complete league double vs Leeds for first time in 26 years
The Villans are unbeaten in their last six Premier League games against the Whites and are looking to complete the double over them for the second time in the competition after doing so in 1999-00.
Leeds have lost their last two league matches against the Brummies, and the last time they lost three in a row was between January and December 2000.
It’s safe to say that Emery’s side are the favourites for Saturday’s clash, and fans have an even bigger reason to be confident.
The Villans are also unbeaten in all 18 of their Premier League games against promoted sides under the Spaniard.
There have been 107 meetings between both sides in the past, and the one blemish on Villa’s record is that the Whites have often gotten the better of them.
| Head-to-head | Result |
| Aston Villa wins | 32 |
| Draws | 32 |
| Leeds wins | 43 |
However, in recent years, Villa have been far superior, and they should have too much quality for Daniel Farke’s side on this occasion.

Unai Emery is cementing himself as the greatest Aston Villa manager of all time
When Emery was hired in November 2022, he was tasked with dragging Villa out of the bottom half of the table.
He went on to achieve a seventh-placed finish, and they have gone from strength to strength ever since.
He has since finished in the top four and reached a Champions League quarter-final, and the Villa Park faithful are in awe of the job he has done.

Although Emery hasn’t won a trophy for the Villans just yet, he’ll fancy his chances of winning the Europa League in May.
As for the Premier League, barring a major collapse, the Villans should secure a top-five finish, which would enable them to play in the Champions League next season.
A win over Leeds would dramatically boost those odds, and based on the fact that Emery hasn’t lost at home to a newly promoted team since joining Villa, fans around B6 should expect to have a brilliant afternoon.
