Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers sends message as season-ending surgery news emerges

Morgan Rogers has been a key player under Unai Emery over the last few years.

The Englishman has truly taken on the mantle as Aston Villa’s talisman, and the Birmingham-based club are now chasing the Champions League again this season.

Additionally, the Villans are hunting down Europa League success, a competition Emery knows very well, having won it four times.

Rogers’ performances have been vital to Aston Villa’s rise again this year, and the forward has been taking the spotlight.

Alan Shearer believes Rogers is on track to start for England, as Thomas Tuchel weighs his options ahead of the World Cup.

Meanwhile, Rogers has garnered interest from Chelsea ahead of the summer transfer window, but not everyone is tasting that success.

Morgan Rogers reacts to surgery news away from Aston Villa

Aston Villa have quite a few injury issues at the moment. Midfielders John McGinn, Boubacar Kamara and Youri Tielemans are all currently sidelined.

The Scotsman and the Belgian are not expected back until April, while Kamara’s season is over.

It was a brutal blow for the club, who have been performing so well across both the Premier League and Europa League so far.

With those successes on the line, Douglas Luiz was brought back to Villa Park to cover the absences.

However, there has been other injury news away from Aston Villa, to which Rogers has now reacted.

Former Villa star Jack Grealish has undergone surgery after picking up a stress fracture in his foot and has confirmed his season is over.

Over on Instagram, Rogers dropped a comment wishing Grealish well, stating, “My brother man, back soon,” with two love heart emojis.

The Villa star was also joined by Tyrone Mings and Ezri Konsa, who left love heart emojis in the comments of the post.

Morgan Rogers on track for a special season

Grealish’s season being over is terrible news for the player, who had been back to his best at Everton.

Rogers is currently having a special season himself. He has already scored the same number of Premier League goals this season as he did in the last, and there are 13 games to go.

Getting Villa into the top 5 five would be a remarkable achievement, and Rogers would be at the very centre of that.

Additionally, if the Villans can win the Europa League, and then Rogers flies off to North America and wins the World Cup, it would certainly be a truly excellent campaign for the Englishman.

Long may his performances continue.
