Aston Villa green light midfielder exit with permission granted to leave Bodymoor Heath
Ben Broggio is set to leave Aston Villa on loan before Monday’s 7pm transfer deadline.
Broggio is very highly-rated at Aston Villa, who has been with the Villans since he was a child.
A versatile and creative attacking midfield player, Broggio has been turning heads for Aston Villa‘s Under-21s over the last few years, despite having just turned 19 at the end of January.
However, he has only made one first-team appearance for Villa, and that came in a Carabao Cup match against Wycombe Wanderers in September 2024.

Aston Villa set to commission Ben Broggio loan exit
Broggio has made one Premier League matchday squad and two in the Europa League for Villa this season, showing that he’s close to breaking into the first-team picture.
Many Aston Villa fans have been urging Unai Emery to give Broggio a chance, but given his team’s position in the Premier League title race, he’s understandably playing it safe with players he trusts.
However, Emery clearly still rates the teenager highly enough to have him involved in matchday squads, both domestically and in Europe.
Therefore, it may be only be a matter of time before Broggio does make his mark at Villa Park, but for now, with the youngster having signed a long-term contract extension in March of last year.
As such, there’s no real rush to fast-track him into the side if he’s not quite ready for that level of football yet, but Villa do appear to have found some senior experience for him ahead of the transfer deadline.
Per a report from Scottish Express Sport reporter Scott Burns via X, Scottish Premiership side Falkirk are looking to sign Broggio ahead of their 11pm deadline in Scotland.
Burns reveals that Broggio is set to sign for John McGlynn’s side on loan for the rest of the season.

Falkirk could be excellent move for Broggio
After being crowned winners of the Scottish Championship last season, Falkirk are enjoying life back in Scotland’s top flight this term.
Currently, McGlynn’s men sit sixth of 12 in the Premiership table, and are well on pace for a comfortable mid-table finish.
Therefore, this is obviously a well-coached Falkirk side, and it looks like the sort of environment where Broggio could really gain some invaluable experience in his young career.
