Morgan Rogers sends message after surgery ‘went well’ at Aston Villa
Morgan Rogers has spoken out after the injury latest at Aston Villa.
Rogers has been a star for Villa this season, so the last thing Unai Emery would want is for him to pick up any sort of injury.
The Spaniard has already been dealt problems elsewhere, with Youri Tielemans now confirmed to be out for around two months for Villa.
That has seen the Belgium international join John McGinn and Boubacar Kamara on the injury list at Villa after seemingly weekly issues in B6.
Rogers has now shared a message from Villa Park, with surgery revealed as fitness worries continue to frustrate the claret and blue outfit.

Morgan Rogers speaks out after surgery at Aston Villa
Aston Villa secured victory against Newcastle United last time out in a first St James’ Park win for over 20 years in claret and blue.
The positivity surrounding that result has been short-lived after Tielemans limped off and has now been confirmed to be out for a lengthy period.
That news came just a week after McGinn also picked up an injury of his own and was forced off as the Villans lost 1-0 to Everton in B6.
The Scotland international was able to walk off the pitch and down the tunnel in the Midlands, but initial fear was made worse when he was confirmed to be out for around six weeks.
McGinn has now taken to Instagram to reveal that he has undergone surgery, featuring an image of himself in a similar situation in 2016.
His message reads: “Not doing one of those shocking pics like 2016. Surgery went well, and I’ll be back before you know it.“
The skipper was met with messages of support from Rogers, who commented, “I’ll keep the armband warm,” and “Trim better in 2016.”
Those tongue-in-cheek responses weren’t echoed by Matty Cash, who simply wished his teammate well, “Speedy recovery, skip,” he added.
What games will John McGinn miss for Aston Villa?
McGinn is expected to be out for between one and two months, but luckily for the Villans, their fixture list looks ok within that period.
A return date is expected sometime in March for the Scot, something which will likely see him miss clashes throughout February.
Aston Villa February fixtures:
- 1 February – Brentford
- 7 February –Bournemouth
- 11 February – Brighton
- 14 February – Newcastle United
- 21 February – Leeds United
- 27 February – Wolves
The captain will also miss Thursday’s Europa League clash with RB Salzburg, with a potential return in March with clashes against Chelsea, Manchester United and West Ham.
If McGinn doesn’t come back until after this trio of March outings, that would make for an April comeback after upto 10 games out.
There will be hope that it doesn’t come to that, and the midfielder can make a safe recovery and return sooner than expected in B6.
