Alisha Lehmann on verge of WSL return in the Midlands, 18 months after Aston Villa exit
Aston Villa could soon face off against Alisha Lehmann for the first time since her exit.
Lehmann performed at a top level at times for Aston Villa and played a key role in positive days under Carla Ward.
The Swiss international had many star moments, with Lehmann’s showing in a 7-0 win over Blackburn Rovers being one of her crowning moments.
Lehmann ultimately departed Villa for Juventus in 2024, joining her partner at the time, Douglas Luiz, in Turin that summer.
It now appears that Lehmann could be set for a WSL return in the coming days, with a move from Como set to go through.
Alisha Lehmann set to join Leicester City from Como
Lehmann wished Aston Villa well after her exit, and there has been plenty of change at Villa Park since her departure for Italy two years ago.
Natalia Arroyo is now in charge, and the Villans sit sixth in the Women’s Super League and will be hopeful of moving higher as the campaign goes on.

Things haven’t gone quite so well for the Swiss attacker in recent months, with her spell at Como being largely disappointing, as was her stint at Juventus.
Lehmann has scored just three goals in Italy, with her nine appearances this season resulting in just one strike.
That has prompted a return to the WSL, with Megan Feringa reporting on Thursday that the 27-year-old has travelled to Leicester City’s training ground ahead of a move
The Switzerland international has already trained with the Foxes after being left out of the Como squad for a Serie A Femminile clash with Napoli.
Lehmann now looks set to confirm her return to the Midlands, as Leicester remain keen on adding WSL experience to their squad.
When could Aston Villa Women next face Lehmann?
Should the superstar Swiss complete her move to the King Power Stadium, she will have an eye on a clash with her former side.
Lehmann has previously featured for West Ham, Everton and Villa and could face off against all three before the end of the WSL season.
The Foxes will face the Hammers in their next fixture on 25 January and the Toffees on the final day of the season, earmarked for 16 May.
A clash against Villa will come in between them, with the claret and blue outfit set to travel to the East Midlands on 22 March.
| Opponent | Date |
| West Ham (H) | 25 January |
| Aston Villa (H) | 22 March |
| Everton (A) | 16 May |
That will mark the first time Lehmann will face off against the Villans, 18 months after she made the move to Juventus.
Supporters are bound to give the forward a positive reception after her three years and 75 appearances in B6 between 2021 and 2024.
