Emi Martinez exit talks underway at Aston Villa in potential Unai Emery headache
Emi Martinez is once again being linked with a move away from Aston Villa.
Martinez almost left Villa last summer, with the Argentina international keen on joining Manchester United and replacing Andre Onana, but the Red Devils opted for Senne Lammens instead.
The 33-year-old stayed with Unai Emery‘s side as a result and has made 18 appearances in the Premier League so far this season, keeping four clean sheets.
However, as the winter transfer window draws to a close, the World Cup winner is in talks to complete a Villa Park exit.

Emi Martinez in talks with Inter Milan
Martinez has been criticised for his Aston Villa performances at times this season, with some believing his drop-off in form is down to his transfer saga over the summer.
Speculation about a move away has continued over the past few months, sparking doubts about his long-term future with Emery’s side.
According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Inter Milan have shortlisted Martinez as a potential option to replace Yann Sommer, whose contract expires at the end of the season.
The Italian giants have already spoken with the Villa shot-stopper’s agents to understand whether a deal would be possible next summer.
However, Inter would require Martinez to reduce his wage demands before making any move for the Argentine.
He is very much on their shortlist, though, and it is a situation which could develop over the coming weeks.
Possible Martinez exit creates Unai Emery headache
Emery will surely do everything he can to keep Martinez at Villa Park, given how important he is to the West Midlands outfit.
If he does depart, the Spanish manager then has to find a new option in between the sticks, which could create something of a headache for him.
Marco Bizot has filled in for Martinez at times this season, most recently featuring as Aston Villa beat Tottenham 2-1 in the FA Cup to advance through to the fourth round.
The Dutchman has been relatively secure in the games he has played, but if Villa want to challenge at the top of the Premier League, they need a world-class goalkeeper.
