Aston Villa officials in attendance to watch player Jack Grealish couldn’t get enough of
Unai Emery is hoping to make some further additions to his Aston Villa squad this month.
It’s been a relatively quiet January transfer window so far at Villa Park, with just a handful of deals being done both in the way of incomings and outgoings.
17-year-old striker Brian Madjo has signed from Metz, whilst 19-year-old winger Alysson joined from Gremio on New Year’s Day, but those are the only two arrivals so far.
Meanwhile, Donyell Malen’s move to Roma is the headline departure of Aston Villa‘s window so far, and Emery will be keen to limit too many further exits given the nature of his relatively thin squad depth.

Aston Villa refusing to be subtle over Tammy Abraham interest
It’s no secret that Aston Villa are keen on signing Tammy Abraham this month, with the striker currently out on loan with Besiktas in Turkey.
Besiktas have a conditional obligation to purchase Abraham from his parent club Roma, meaning it will be them who Villa are negotiating with over his potential Villa Park return.
Indeed, Abraham became a Villa cult hero during his solitary season on loan from Chelsea in the 2018-19 campaign, which saw the Villans promoted to the Premier League via the play-offs.
The big striker enjoyed a fantastic individual season too, scoring 26 times and providing three assists in 40 appearances, thus playing an integral role to Villa’s promotion.
So, with Malen‘s exit leaving just Ollie Watkins as Emery’s only natural and senior centre-forward option, adding another striker looks to be a priority for Aston Villa before the window shuts.
And, as per a post from independent Besiktas news outlet Kartal Record via X on Monday night, Aston Villa officials were in attendance to watch Besiktas beat Kayserispor 1-0.
Besiktas won the game thanks to 95th-minute winner from El Bilal Toure, as Villa chiefs watched Abraham play 90 minutes before being subbed off in added time.

Jack Grealish waxed lyrical about Abraham at Aston Villa
Another player who was vital to Aston Villa’s Premier League promotion-winning side of 2018-19 was Jack Grealish.
The Villa academy graduate provided six goals and seven assists in 35 appearances that year, and formed a deadly partnership with Abraham in attack.

As quoted by The Chelsea Chronicle in May 2020, Grealish couldn’t speak highly enough of Abraham’s qualities, with his words sure to excite Villa fans at the prospect of seeing him don their shirt once again.
“Unbelievable. Couldn’t believe how good he was with the ball for how tall he is. Loved playing with him,” Grealish said.
