John McGinn has already revealed how Tammy Abraham will react to Aston Villa transfer talk
Tammy Abraham has been linked with a sensational return to Aston Villa seven years after leaving.
Abraham had a successful season with Villa on loan from Chelsea back in 2018-19, scoring 26 Championship goals as the Midlands side secured promotion back to the Premier League.
The 28-year-old permanently left Stamford Bridge in 2021, spending time at Roma and AC Milan before joining Besiktas on loan last summer.
Villa are now considering another move for the Englishman, and John McGinn has already revealed exactly how he will be feeling about the speculation.
Tammy Abraham will be relaxed despite Aston Villa rumours
Abraham’s return to Aston Villa was rumoured back in the summer of 2024, but the centre-forward ended up joining AC Milan on loan.
Unai Emery’s side brought in Jhon Duran instead, but the Colombian star moved to the Saudi Pro League six months later, leaving the Villans light up top.
Abraham is currently on loan from Roma at Besiktas until the end of the season, but Villa are hoping that he will cut his spell in Turkey short to make the switch to the Midlands.
The 28-year-old was in a similar situation during his campaign at Villa, as he was linked with a move to Wolves in January 2019.
Speaking to the Birmingham Mail at the time, McGinn revealed that Abraham is a “pretty chilled guy” and just got on with business as usual despite the rumours.
With talk around his return to Villa now hotting up, Abraham will likely be ignoring the speculation and waiting for any concrete approach from Emery’s side.
Do Aston Villa need Tammy Abraham?
Ollie Watkins has returned to form in recent months after a slow start to the season, and now has seven Premier League goals to his name this term.
However, Villa still haven’t properly replaced Duran, and a move for Abraham could help lift some of the scoring load off Watkins.
Donyell Malen has played through the middle at times this season, but is not an out-and-out centre forward by any means.
Abraham would give Emery a completely different option up front, and aid Villa’s hopes of finishing in the Champions League places.
