Aston Villa ready sensational deal to re-sign Tammy Abraham as they hunt down Arsenal
Tammy Abraham could be set for a dramatic return to Aston Villa this month.
Villa are looking to make big moves in the transfer market to make up for a relatively poor summer of business, which was conducted by Monchi.
With Monchi now replaced by Roberto Olabe, the Villans look to be serious about helping Unai Emery out with additions.
Abraham was a success at Aston Villa during his loan stay from Chelsea in the 2018-19 season, where the striker racked up 26 goals in 40 games.
Emery now seems to have his eyes set on bringing the former England international back to B6.
Aston Villa want to steal Tammy Abraham from Besiktas
Abraham went on to do great things after leaving Villa, and found himself playing for Italian giants Roma and AC Milan.
The 28-year-old now finds himself in Turkey on loan with Besiktas, but Olabe has a plan to steal him from his parent club, Roma.
According to the Daily Telegraph’s Mike McGrath on Saturday, Abraham is understood to be on Aston Villa‘s radar in the January transfer window, as they prepare to hunt down Arsenal in the title race.
Emery is keen on signing a “specialist” number nine that can provide competition for Ollie Watkins and help the Villans stay at the top of the Premier League.
Villa may make a move to re-sign their once-star man in the coming days.
It’s not yet understood if the potential deal would be a loan or a permanent move. However, one thing is for sure, and that’s Abraham’s talent is still there.
Unai Emery to weigh up Abraham’s injury problems with goal record
It’s safe to say that Abraham’s career has been turbulent since he left Villa, but the striker has remained a consistent goal scorer, no matter what.
From mismanagement and injuries, the forward has seen it all, but he would surely be welcomed back to Villa Park with open arms.
- Abraham joined Besiktas on loan in the summer
- He has scored 12 goals in 24 games for the Turkish side
- The number nine’s contract with Roma runs out in 2027
Abraham also scored 30 goals in 79 games once he returned to Chelsea after his Villa loan, netting an extra 47 across his time with Roma and AC Milan.
Plenty of twists and turns are yet to take place this window, but Villa clearly have their priorities straight, given their interest and monitoring of such a proven goal threat.
