Alysson can make Aston Villa debut vs Tottenham as images emerge from Bodymoor Heath

Aston Villa could hand a first opportunity to January signing Alysson against Tottenham on Saturday.

Alysson joined Villa from Gremio earlier in the winter after a deal was agreed with the Serie A side ahead of the window opening.

The teenager emerged as a target, and an agreement was quickly reached with Gremio for Alysson to bring him to Villa Park.

There is a reason that Unai Emery wants Alysson at Villa, and it will certainly be interesting to see how he is utilised across the second half of the season.

Fans are awaiting a first look at Alysson in claret and blue, something they may not have to wait long for ahead of the FA Cup clash in North London.

Villa are set to travel down to Tottenham this weekend in a break from Premier League action at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The third round tie may come as an unwanted distraction for Emery and Co., something which may see changes be utilised in N17.

That could see the Spaniard rotate his side heavily, giving the Brazilian the perfect opportunity to prove himself to the head coach this week.

For that to happen, he needed to get involved in training at Bodymoor Heath, and that is exactly what he has done.

The Villans shared an image from B6 showcasing the teenager in training with the caption, “The boy from Brazil at Bodymoor”.

It’s a post that is bound to get supporters excited, and it could prove to be the perfect timing for a trip down to the capital.

As a youngster coming out of Brazil, there was always going to be a bedding-in period before he was thrown into the first team.

Seeing him in training has begun that process and now, minutes are going to be the true test to see where Alysson is at.

The winger has some top attributes from his days at Gremio that prove exactly what sort of damage he could do in claret and blue.

He contributed to 3.09 progressive carries, 1.78 successful take-ons and 3.82 touches in the opposition box per 90 across the past year, arguably his key attributes as an attacking force.

Add to that his exceptional defensive work rate, something which has seen him clock up 2.46 tackles, 1.94 blocks and 2.15 aerials won per game.

These sorts of qualities could be on show against Tottenham, with a debut potentially in the pipeline for Alysson in North London.
