‘Aston Villa may seal another January transfer after Alysson as early noises revealed, this is what they want’

Aston Villa could complete further business after moving for Alysson.

Alysson looks set to sign for Villa from Gremio ahead of the January window as the Villans look to make moves early on this winter.

Villa sent scouts to watch Alysson against Cruzeiro in November and have since swooped to land the 19-year-old.

The Villa Park faithful were delighted to see Alysson watch Villa’s 3-2 win against West Ham as he prepares to make his B6 move.

Alysson may not be the last player in Unai Emery’s eyeline in January, with more deals potentially set to be deliberated in the Midlands.

Alysson looks set to join Villa when the winter window opens as all the groundwork is already in place to complete a deal with Gremio.

The Brazilian youngster is an exciting addition, but there is an element of uncertainty surrounding him and his lack of experience.

Emery will be keen to get his hands on him and work towards making him a better player, but it feels unlikely the teen will have a dramatic impact when he joins.

That could see the Villans move elsewhere in the market to help improve their squad and chances of earning a top four finish this season.

The Daily Mail have reported on 15 November that another wideman is wanted, even with financial restrictions looking dicey once again.

They wrote: “All the noises coming from Villa Park indicate that the club will have little room to manoeuvre during the January window. Villa face a constant reckoning with Premier League and UEFA spending rules and are unlikely to reprise last winter, when they brought Donyell Malen and signed Marcus Rashford, Marco Asensio and Axel Disasi on loan.

Yet Emery is always striving for more, especially if the club remain competitive in the Premier League and Europa League. The Villa boss will demand constant updates from his transfer chief, Roberto Olabe, about what deals can be done.

Daily Mail Sport understands that Emery would still like a wide attacker who can operate on either flank. Brazilian youngster Alysson will join next month, but Emery may want a player who will need no adaptation time.

Aston Villa need transfer boost in January

Villa are in an excellent position right now and know that if they maintain their form, they will finish the campaign with Champions League qualification.

That will bring a boost throughout the club, with the financial benefits destined to improve opportunities in the transfer market and beyond.

The issue comes this January as every Premier League side will want to bring players in to help improve and or change their fortunes for the second half of the season.

Villa can’t afford to be left behind in that sense, and even with the signing of Alysson, they need someone to hang their hat on and look to in the final months of the campaign.
