Alysson already has Aston Villa hat on after message sent from Brazil

Aston Villa continued to showcase their title credentials with an impressive comeback win against West Ham in the Premier League.

Morgan Rogers stole the show with a brace at the London Stadium, including a late stunner to secure Unai Emery’s men a 3-2 win.

The Villans showcased their powers of recovery to move three points behind title rivals Arsenal, who struck late on to beat Wolves on Saturday night.

Emery would have been delighted to see how his players responded to going down 1-0 within 29 seconds, and will be quietly confident they can continue their form into 2026.

Alysson watched West Ham vs Aston Villa from home

Whilst Aston Villa aren’t expected to make any first-team signings in the January window, one youngster has already secured his move to B6.

Villa News revealed on Wednesday that Villa have sealed the signing of winger Alysson from Brazilian side Gremio, with an announcement expected imminently.

Aston Villa sent scouts to watch Alysson back in November, and the 19-year-old is already familiarising himself with his new club.

The exciting talent posted a story on Instagram of him watching Villa’s win over West Ham at his home in Brazil.

Alysson would have been impressed with what he saw from his new side at the London Stadium, with his arrival coming at the right time.

What Aston Villa fans can expect from Alysson

Villa are crying out for some attacking options in January, and the Brazilian will feel he can have a positive impact on the squad.

With Jadon Sancho underperforming and Harvey Elliott essentially banished from the first team, there could be chances for Alysson to impress.

That being said, there won’t be too much pressure placed on him to make an immediate impact and he will need time to adapt to English football.

So, it wouldn’t be a surprise if most of his opportunities come from the bench at Villa – at least in the early stages – and it’s up to him to prove he can cut it at the highest level.

In any case, a gruelling fixture schedule means Emery will have to manage the workload of his squad, and the addition of Alysson gives him another option.
